Suren Ulaganathan first heard about NCPRE through C.K. Gunsalus when he took her engineering leadership class as an undergraduate in chemical engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The class greatly complemented his understanding of engineering and the goals he wanted to achieve in the engineering domain. After graduation he joined NCPRE as a Project Associate to further explore this field, for half a year.
Suren is now pursuing a master’s in petroleum engineering at The University of Texas at Austin (UT). He writes: “The knowledge gained at NCPRE has helped me negotiate graduate school and life more successfully – where paths are more strewn with ethical and moral dilemmas than college. Furthermore, as a TA for engineering communication at UT, I have been able to pass this knowledge to numerous undergraduate engineering students.”
